While both X Pole and Lupit's Freestanding Dance Pole Stages are meant for homes with taller ceilings or the added option of being able to use the dance pole outside you can also shorten the dance pole for a home with lower ceilings.

You simply need to purchase an additional extension to replace the top pole with in, order to shorten it. Each dance pole stage is different so you will need to read in the product description to find out what the correct size extension that is needed for your ceiling height.
